What Causes Excessive Burping And Loss Of Appetite After Pacemaker Implantation?

Question: Hello Dr,
My question is related to my MOM. She is 69 Yrs old and recently got operated (Pacemaker Implantation).
I need some clarity/guidance on her Gastric problem. Here are few symptoms-
1. Lot of Burbing. For instance even after one glass of water she burbs for 4-5 times.
2. Not feeling hungry, specially, as the day progresses
3. At times feeling hard around her upper stomach area but got relief after few burbs. During this phase, she feels very weak especially around leg area.
Around 1 year back she has similar problem (But not this extreme). At that time Doctor prescribed her to go for Ultrasound. She was found minor fat around liver area and hence advise for 10 days medication.
Please note here motions are smooth.
Thank you in advance for the response.

Brief Answer:
Suggest upper GI endoscopy.
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear.Thanks for your query.
According to me it is unlikely to be a relation between pacemaker and burping.
Burping is more likely to be a upper GI tract symptom. It becomes a vicious cycle when there is underlying acidity and reduced food intake.
I would do an upper GI endoscopy to rule out underlying pathology(reflux problems such as esophagitis or GERD).
Could you upload(using the report tab) the scan of the ultrasound report along with the prescription or medication that was advised to her?
If her bowels are regular and stools are smooth this essentially excludes lower GI tract abnormality.Nothing to panic.
Hope this answers your query.
