What Causes Excessive Sleep In An Infant After A Fall?
Question: Hi..my 6months baby hd a fall frm bed in d mrng.....bed hight must b one feet frm d wooden flooring....she cried m went to sleep...aftr dat she didnt vomit...,d only unusual thing m noticing aftr hr fall is she is sleeping bit more XXXXXXX usual.....she took her feed neatly throughout d day....there is no swelling as well...bt in case if there is swelling which cream shud i apply.....plzzzzz help....m really worried......plzzzzzz

Welcome to the HCM.
small baby of 6 months fell from the bed of only one feet height-no vomitings, no other abnormal actvity,took feeds and comfertably sleeping-- need not to be panic much.This is the assurance from my side to you- be relaxed.
Please continue the feeds. let the child sleep peacefully.
Only if the child is cranky/irritable then give the child paraceatmol syrup orally @15 mg /kg 4 to 6 hourly basis ( to releive his pain ).
Swelling if any can be tackled with ice packs only. Need not to apply any cream.
Watch for any untowards symptoms for about 24 hours like recurrent vomitings, excessive drowsiness, abnormal movement of eyes, excessive unconselable cry, any abnormal movements of limbs etc then please contact the emergency room.
