What Causes Excessive Sweating All Over Body?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I sweat excessively all over my body, not just under arms. My head, face , torso mostly. My arms feel clammy. What do you think is the problem? I am 75, female in fairly good health, obese, had bariatric surgery 32 years ago, but still 25 pounds over weight.
Brief Answer:
Any thyroid blood work done?
Detailed Answer:
Good day.
Noted your medical history . Fat tissue is a heat generator and itself can cause sweating. This is especially so if one has more of brown adipose (fat ) tissue.
However other causes of sweating include hormonal imbalances causing hot flushes, hyperthyroidism. Occasionally nervous overactivity from various causes also produce excess sweating.
Have you had thyroid blood works or blood glucose done?
