Brief Answer:
A pheochromacitoma should be confirmed;
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Yes, the adrenal masses can be the cause of your symptoms.
Your physician will check rather the masses produce exessive hormones causing high blood pressure and if it is confirmed, surgery will be recommended, of course after stabilising the blood pressure.
An over active thyroid may cause exessive sweating, so your doctor is at the right way.
Wish you will find a solution of your symptoms as soon as possible.
Please do not hesitate to ask if you have still queries.
Kind regards,

I have had numerous blood test. MRI with contrast, 24 hr urine , another blood test where I took a pill and had to have blood test 12 hrs. Later. I am worried maybe. Heart problem?
Brief Answer:
You are at the right way in finding the diagnosis;
Detailed Answer:
Yes, the tests you described (cortisol level after dexametasone suppression test, metanefrines at the 24 hour collected urine, aldosterone/ renine) are the one we check to verify an hormonal overproduction by masses in the adrenal gland.
Pheochromacitoma, that is characterized by high catecolamins or urinary metanefrines, is associated with the high blood pressure, fast heart beat and sweating.
You should not get worried because you are at the right way in finding a diagnosis for your symptoms.
Heart problems are excluded, as your physician decided to check the adrenal glands.
Wish you good health,
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
