What Causes Excessive Thirst And Mouth Ulcers While Treating Throat Infection?
Question: Hi.I am XXXX.
I had throat infection, Cough & Fever, Doctor prescribed Zenine 500MG, Wysolone 10MG, Doxycline & Eldom P & PreKof D Syrup.
Now I am suffering from Increase in Thirst, Irritation & Wound in my Mouth & Strain from past 2 Days. Not able to sleep also, from past 3 Days i am sleeping for only 3 Hours / Day.
Kindly suggest what needs to be done.

I am afraid you have side effects of medicines. How long did you take Wysolone and what dose? If it is less than 5 days you can stop them immediately. But if you have already taken 5 days course you should gradually stop like only one tablet a day.
In fact there are two antibiotics in your prescription one is very strong one called Levoflox (zenine) and other Doxycycline. Both are broad spectrum and may not be needed.
You should stop the medicines now.
I suggest you to increase water intake especially ORS drinks every 4 hours. Include one zinetac 150mg tablet before food thrice a day for 5 days.
I think you should meet an Adult medicine doctor specially Internal Medicine/General Medicine than a Pediatrician for your problem.
