What Causes Excessive Thirst At Night, Constant Hunger, Sleepiness And Fatigue?
Prediabetes
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but it seems that you are suffering of ore diabetes state which can present by some or all of the following , increased thirst , hunger , urination, blurred vision and fatigue .. people with prediabetes don't process sugar (glucose) properly anymore. As a result, sugar accumulates in the bloodstream instead of doing its normal job of fueling the cells that make up muscles and other tissues.
I would recommend that you take a blood test of hbA1c and if the result came back between 5.7 and 6.4 , then the diagnosis of prediabetes will be confirmed ..
prediabetes patients usually develop diabetes within five years if the prediabetes state was not reversed..
prediabetes state can be reversed by avoiding sugar intake, white flour , rice and pasta and takeing the dietary carbohydrates content in the form of brown rice, brown bread and oats ..
excersicing half an hour three times daily also plays a role in bringing the sugar level down.
if the life style modification was not enough then you can add a medication as metformin ..
I hope I answered your question..
My last hbA1c test, which was in December of last year, came back at 5. This seems like it is quite out of the range of pre-diabetes; however, my doctor did call to tell me that although I am not yet pre-diabetic, I need to watch my diet, as I could soon become so. I eat no sugar and very few carbohydrates, so am wondering why I am still symptomatic. Any ideas?
Thank you,
XXXX
Hello again,
I just checked the results from the same date in December, and my fasting blood glucose was 101, which is apparently two points above the high normal range. Most likely that is why my doctor called, and not because of the hbA1c level. I'm assuming that hbA1c is more indicative of pre-diabetes than is fasting blood glucose. Is that correct?
Thanks again,
XXXX
Yes
