What Causes Excessive Thirst, Fatigue And Blurry Vision Post Intake Of Metformin?

default
Posted on Wed, 8 Jun 2016
Question: I take metformin twice a day. Two 500 mg tablets. Lately I have been very, very thirsty and tired. I have also noticed changes in my vision (for the better actually). I just stopped taking paxil during this time, and switched (three days ago) to Brintellex. As per psychiatrist orders. I suspect something is going on with my diabetes. I just took my finger stick twice and it read 475 and 400. Crazy high, I know. Should I called my health center's emergency line? Please respond.

Brief Answer:
You need to get medicines tested

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message. I think I can help you.
The fact remains that you need to get the medicines readjusted for sure.
I would suggest going to Diabetician.
For starts you need to increase the dose of medicines.
Going to ER would be a good idea.
Please let me know if you need more information.
