What Causes Extra Growth In Lower Abdomen Area?
My father in law (78 years ) has developed some outward growth (pic attached) beside his lower abdomen area. for the past 15 year there was a Niorofibroma but this growth suddenly started after he started taking some homeopathy medicine.
There was little pain sometimes when his skin rubs with his cloths.
We wanted to understand
1) What specialist we need to consult for his treatment
2) Do you feel this is malignant or cancerous ?
3) Right now we don't want to take the risk of biopsy and increase the chance of malignancy , so is there a way to understand how serious this tumor is without any kind of biopsy testing?
Please re-attach the picture. FNAC to start with.

Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Read and understood that your father in law has neurofibroma in the lower abdomen area for the past 15 years which started suddenly to grow after taking some homeopathy medicines. There is little pain on rubbing of cloth.
To answer your queries:
1) What specialist we need to consult for his treatment?
> General Surgeon will be the best for such a case. as he can examine, evaluate clinically and remove the growth in-toto as the curative treatment as well as to get the biopsy done to get the final diagnosis.
2) Do you feel this is malignant or cancerous ?
I could not see the pictures. Please attach again.
> The history of sudden growth is a suspicious thing and usually occurs in malignancy, but in this case there is possibility that the homeopathic medicines taken too can cause this.
3) Right now we don't want to take the risk of biopsy and increase the chance of malignancy , so is there a way to understand how serious this tumor is without any kind of biopsy testing?
> Well, doing biopsy does not increase the chances of malignancy. This is unfounded.
The another ways to understand the nature of the tumor FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology) can be done. As the name suggests this is done with a small needle.
I hope this answer helps you to get an early diagnosis and permanent cure.
Please feel free to ask relevant further queries if needed or if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
CT/MRI and FNAC
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your pictures.
It is appearing as if coming from the iliac crest.
I would advise you to go for CT scan or MRI for a proper study and FNAC as discussed to get a proper diagnosis and then to go further for proper treatment.
Go for both , CT/MRI and FNAC
Detailed Answer:
CT/MRI can help but the final diagnosis is by FNAC or biopsy
