What Causes Extra Skin Growth Near Anal Opening?
Question: There is tiny gland thing i felt around my ass whole. I am worried if it is piles. I am sharing the attachment (image of same) and would like to know what it is. I need expert's comments here. Please help!
Brief Answer:
possible skin tag , unlikely hemorrhoid
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
unfortunately the attachment is not being displayed along with the query.
But if this swelling or tiny gland thing which you are mentioning is not arising from inside the anal canal or opening , then it is unlikely to be a haemorrhoid or pile.
It may however be a small skin tag or if its perceived as a swelling around the anal skin, then it can be a follicular infection developing which should be accompanied with pain.
However these are differentials, you may try to replied the image again for a better purview over the concern,

Brief Answer:
skin tag
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I got the pic now.
I can see what you are pointing at, its a skin tag and not a haemorrhoid at all. This can be removed by cryocautery if its troubling you.
Also evident is perianal shrivelling of skin indicating a possible fungal infection with possible perianal itching, which should be ruled out with a perianal and anal swab test .

Detailed Answer:
Well You may visit a gynaecologist first for a repeat local examination and also a local swab culture test for local fungal infection.
If positive then should be treated with antifungals and then for the skin tag-- your gyno can collaborate with a dermatologist for the cryolysis or just simple excision of the skin may be performed by her.
Such skin tags and shrivelled skin are usually seen in women who are sexually active and have been practicing anal intercourse. If you are in a practice then it is advisable that the practice should be avoided till treatment is completed.
