What Causes Facial Rash And Swelling?
Not necessarily Lupus,need further investigations.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Having a facial rash does not necessarily mean that it is Lupus. You are reporting that the rash is located in the right side of your face. Lupus rash has a typical butterfly rash located in both sides of the face.
If you are having the rash now, can you send a picture of it for further evaluation?
Apart the rash, are you also experiencing:
- changes in the nail beds?
- are you fatigued all the time?
- do you get more sensitive to the light?
You are reporting to have rash in the right part of your body: face, shoulder, nipple, thigh, which makes me think over a possible damage in the nerves on the right side due to:
- shingles attack or
- problems with spinal cord that is compressing the nerves passing to the right side of your body
You are reporting random swelling in your shoulder and thigh, that might be related to possible inflammation of these joints.
I advise to run :
- complete blood count
- kidney function test
- clotting time testing
- ANA test (anti-nuclear antibodies)
- tissue biopsy of the skin where the rash is located
Hope it helped!
Let me know if anything unclear!
