What Causes Fainting Spells While On Requip?
Any new meds available
Several points.
Detailed Answer:
It is helpful with frustration to break the situation into very constrained particulars. Especially since I am not there, I cannot directly examine, treat, or prescribe; but can give a lot of information on particular questions.
First, some people have a flushing/vasodilation response to dopamine drugs. This lowers blood pressure and if you are susceptible it can cause feelings of fainting. Dose adjustment, or use of sinemet might change it but the underlying situation remains, so it probably would not change it.
.
Second, people would be on requip for painful leg spasms or parkinson's. You mention that tramadol helped, that would be a reason to be on it and a reason to not be frustrated with the doctor prescribing it. second, un-controlled use of a medication is a bad sign and a reason to take someone off of it.
then, there are particular medications for pain with fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is due either to broken opiate receptors or depression; in either case, narcotics are a very bad idea, and other drugs affecting nerves and pain would be more generally used.
Frustration with multiple medications being tried is common in fibromyalgia, but since there is no hard evidence of what is precisely going on either with you or with anyone with fibromyalgia (definition of it is that 1) someone has aches/pains/tiredness and 2) a trained person can hit martial arts pressure points and cause pain....by the current definition of fibromyalgia the only people who do NOT have it are those who have radiologically proven reasons for pain). So, being diagnosed with a disease that probably doesn't really have a good reason for exisiting and is guaranteed to put literally everyone into the same group and therefore mistreat basically everyone in the group... yes, one can see where that could, indeed, be frustrating.
Pain and frustration management would be a more fruitful option.
Thank you for your time.
Ok a few points.
Detailed Answer:
First, I do not see precisely where the frustration arises. if it is from the disease process itself being poorly defined. Yes, I certainly see the situation. You have alluded to all of the current proven therapies (but one, see below) for fibromyalgia so I did not see much point in going over what you already are doing well.
If there is a frustration with not getting a particular controlled substance we will want to continue a conversation on that.
Otherwise I see:
"doubt you can help me. No one can."
"- your answer was no help at all"
a sense of defeatism and a lack of mentioning any clearly defined problems nor questions.
You will really want to check into
cognitive behavioral therapy
there are several points of clarification that can be of help both to you and your symptoms and--- in the communication methods it inculcates --to your health providers.
Thank you for the opportunity to assist.
