What Causes False Positive Result For Temazepam On Drug Test?
Question: I am in the military and was told I had a urinalysis come back positive for temazepam. I had never heard of this drug until now. The only things that I take are benadryl for allergies and workout supplements. Is a false postive possible or is the combination of the 2 a possible answer for the positive test?

You recently had a urine drug screen which was positive for temazepam or restoril. You claim that the only medication you have taken is benadryl. The metabolism of benadryl does not come close to anything like a benzodiazepine. So I do not know why your urine drug screen came positive for temazepam. This drug is very similar to valium or xanax and if you have had any of these drugs in th last week it will show positive for temazepam. Also of note is that temazepam is one of the ingredients in date rape drugs. So if you have been drinking and you became comatose or more affected than usual from that drink you may have drank temazepam by accident.
i would ask your doctor to do a confirmatory test or rerun the test.
