What Causes False Positive Result For Alcohol On Drug Test After Taking Anbesol?

Question: I tested positive for alcohol but the only thing I'd been using for the few days before the test, as well as the day of, was Anbesol, for a torn that had broken in half. Is it possible for the 30 percent alcohol in this product would show up in the test?

Brief Answer:
Yes it is quite possible.

Detailed Answer:
Another possible cause, but not common, is for the test to generate it's own alcohol!
(yeast infection, or other UTI can make alcohol and light up the urine test... if it was a urine test).
It's tricky to be able to disprove it.
