Posted on Mon, 22 Sep 2014
Question: Hi, I have had hypothyroidism for 30 years now. Was diagnosed when I was 10. Periods are sometimes late, but always come every month. Thyroid level great in February 2014, I'm currently 6 weeks late, have had light pink discharge when I wipe for 3 weeks. Home Pregnancy tests (3) negative. Feel very tired, nausia, have some cramping and bloating. Didn't pay much attn to hair falling out, b/c sometimes it happens with thyroid. But it is getting a little worse. Haven't had to have my meds adjusted in several yrs. So assuming things pretty much under control. At a loss for what's going on and honestly tired of feeling miserable. Any ideas?

Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understood your concerns very well.
First of all pregnancy is ruled out.
As far as some delay in periods every month is concerned, it is somewhat expected because of advancing age.
Now coming to your fatigue is considered, there can be various causes for it
Like
Uncontrolled thyroid levels
Diabetes
Iron deficiency anemia
Deficiency of VIT 12, VIT D, calcium etc.
Get yourself tested for above mentioned causes and do the following..
Regular exercises
Drinking plenty of water
Doing yoga, deep breathing exercises and meditation
Taking plenty of fresh fruits and green vegetables
Moderating your alcohol
Get enough sleep.
I hope it helps, however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
