What Causes Feeling Of Pulse In Ears After A Carotid Endarterectomy?
MY ONLY PROBLEM IS, AFTER THE ENDARTERECTOMY I STILL HEAR MY PULSE IN MY EARS, ROOF OF MOUTH, AND THE SOUND SEEMS TO MOVE FROM MY LEFT EAR TO RIGHT EAR, TO STOPPING. IT'S BEEN 7 WEEKS NOW. SHOULD I WAIT A BIT LONGER BEFORE PURSUING MORE TESTS ?
The pulse in your head is normal
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with you health care concerns.
You recently had endarterectomy for a blocked carotid artery. You now hear the pulse in your ears, and feel it on the roof of your mouth. This is really a normal sensation and not something you should worry about or need any further investigation. The best news here is that you had a blocked carotid and now the artery is open and your chances of stroke are decreased. I would recommend that you continue to monitor your blood pressure and continue your regular doctor visits with the cardiologists. Keep on an good low fat diet and exercise program
In summary
1. Normal pulses heard in ear
2. Maintain good blood pressures
3. Maintain good diet and exercise program
4. Follow up with cardiology
5. Be reassured that you are normal and this is okay
