What Causes Fever After A CT Scan?
Question: Hi - I had a CT scan to confirm diagnosis of a bladder stone two weeks ago, which has now cleared with the help of the diuretic Tamsulosin; I've just gone down with a fever (102F) with flu-like symptoms. Is there any way that the fever is a late response to the CT scan radiation, or is it more likely just to be the Flu ?
Brief Answer:
It is not related to CT Scan.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
It is the Flu which is causing the symptoms like fever.
It has nothing to do with the CT Scan.
Bladder stone can cause Urinary tract infection and may cause fever.
Next time, you can get an Ultrasound abdomen to confirm bladder stone recurrence.
I prescribe Antibiotic like Levofloxacin and anti inflammatory tablet which contains paracetamol to my patients with similar complaints.
Nothing to worry.
It will come down.
