What Causes Fever Along With Ear And Throat Pain In Children?

Question: My 5 yrs daughter having fever and ear and throat pain from 2 days. I have given Paracetamol and XXXXXXX Junior and ear drops also. What should I do should I continue the same or suggest something.

Usually fever ear and throat pain is viral in nature.
It may take a few days to settle.
However you had mentioned that you are already giving your child medicines for 2 days
If pain and fever persists I would suggest you to consult your doctor again to look for evidence of bacterial infection.
If throat and ear drum show signs of inflammation like redness and fullness I usually prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin.
Ensure she drinks plenty of liquids to keep hydrated.
Paracetamol can be continued every 4 hours till you consult with your pediatrician.
