What Causes Fever, Burning Pain And Vaginal Discharge?
Question: For the past couple days I've had some worrisome symptoms...a fever with no sore throat or any of my other usual "sick" symptoms, and also pain/burning/discharge around my vagina and I'm worried that the two may be connected?
Brief Answer:
Not connected
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I read your query and I understand your concerns.
1. Both symptoms are not related to each other. Sore throat and vaginal discharge are different.
2. Sore throat can be treated by warm salt water gurgling.
3. Vaginal discharge/ burning could possibly be due to excess mucous discharge which gets cleared up soon. No need to take any medicines.

I'm sorry, I think you misunderstood me...I DON'T have a sore throat, which is usually my worst symptom when I'm sick, I just have a fever. And I also probably should have included this in my history...
I'm worried that it might have to do with sex. Very recently, over the course of three days (Saturday-Monday) I had fairly rough sex at least seven times (with just one person). I wasn't a virgin for it, but still I had only had sex twice before (with the same person), and several months ago. So I still experienced some pain/soreness this time, but I thought it progressively got better each time we did it. Now it's worse than ever, two days later, and I have pain, a clear discharge and an odor, and burning during urination. We used a condom each time and he said he didn't have any STDs, so I don't think that's it. And for the past six months we've only had sex with each other. Do you think these are connected at all?

Brief Answer:
Urinary tract infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for additional information. All these are related. Let me explain.
All these symptoms seems to have developed after sex. Initial days of sexual activity as in your case it is common to develop urinary tract infection. This is also called honeymoon cystitis.
This rough sex leads to urinary tract infection which causes fever, pain in lower abdomen. There will be excess discharge to heal any small trauma / wound that would have probably occurred while sex.
Hence if pain is more get urine culture and sensitivity test done to find which is suitable antibiotic for this infection.
This is not STD.
