What Causes Fever, Chills And Rigors?
Question: I have a fever 102.6; chills and rigors. No symptoms to identify the source of infection.
Brief Answer:
Could be due to UTI. Get your urine checked.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Fever with high rise of temperature frequently occurs due to viral infections and taking paracetamol or acetaminophen or tepid sponging usually provides relief. But the chills and rigors concern me since they are usually associated with conditions like malaria or urinary tract infection. I would insist you to get your urine tested for routine microscopy and culture & sensitivity. As of now, take paracetamol or acetaminophen whenever the temperature rises above 100 °F. The minimum interval between doses is 4-6 hours. Alternativey, use tepid sponging.
Let me know if I could help further.
