What Causes Fever Every Night, Flu Like Symptoms, Headache And Back Pain?

Question: I have had the flu for 6 days and have taken tami-flu and when I wasn't feeling better added thera flu. I also have upset stomach, no vomiting. I am now coughing and got cough medicine.My question is every night I get hot like I have a fever and I never run a fever. I woke up this am soaking wet. Thought I was getting better at last. Also eating light, chicken soup, jello etc. getting lots of rest. I am allergic to penicillin and some diritives of penecillin so treatment for any respatory disease is hard. How long does it take to feel better? and what can I do for accompanied back pain and headache. Its 7pm and I still feel very sick

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Getting persistent cough ,feverish feeling following presumably influenza (treated with Tamiflu/oseltamivir and theraflu (symptomatic treatment),there is possibility of secondary bacterial infection of lower respiratory tract .Get a complete blood count and a course of Fluroquinolones e.g. Ofloxacin (standard dose of 400 mg orally daily) for 05 days along wirh mucolytics like ambroxol HCl 1 teaspoonful three times a day for 05 days will help.
