RECENTLY I.E ON 02/03/2017 MY DAUGHTER GAVE BIRTH TO A MALE CHILD BY CESAREAN OPERATION. BOTH MOTHER AND CHILD ARE SAFE. BUT RECENTLY, I.E FROM 10 DAYS WE OBSERVE HIS BODY IS HOT LIKE HAVING SOME TEMPERATURE, BUT THERMOMETER SHOWS NO TEMPERATURE. BUT DURING THIS TIME HE IS CRYING AND FEELING NOT COMFORTABLE. AND HENCE WE ARE GIVING P 125 DROPS. ONE HOUR AFTER HE IS BECOMING SOMEWHAT NORMAL. PLEASE ADVISE US WHETHER HE IS REALLY HAVING FEVER OR NOT.
In case of fever thermometer shows the temperature
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for asking on this platform
Sometimes parents find the baby hot even when there is no fever. The best way to confirm is by thermometer. So if thermometer is not showing raised temperature I don't think the irritability is due to fever.
P 125 also acts an analgesic (pain killer) and if baby is in any discomfort due to nonspecific pain P125 works well.
Over clothing also can mimic like fever when in real the internal body temperature remains normal.
So I suggest you to check the temperature whenever you feel that your baby is warm and if temperature is normal I don't think P125 is needed.
Avoid over clothing if any and give frequent breastfeeding feeds.
If you find any significant abnormality consult your pediatrician for evaluation and better not to give medication on your own.
I hope this helps.
I shall be glad to help you out if you have any more query.
Regards
THANKING YOU SIR
Breast feed is always preferred, 28 centigrade temperature is good

Thanks for follow up
I can understand your concern but breast feed is always preferred. More the mother feeds the baby more will be the milk production.
Once mixed feed is given for longer duration both mother and baby get habituated of this.
Also if you use bottle for formula feed the baby will face difficulty in breast feed. Baby gets confused between the mother's and bottle's nipple and may bite and injure. So even if you need to give top feed use katori spoon for that.
Always put the baby on mothers breast at least for 20 minute before giving formula feed as once baby's stomach gets full with top feed he will not try for breast feed.
If baby gets asleep after the breast feed, not crying, is playful/active and passing urine at least 5-6 times a day, gaining weight; this indicates that breast milk is sufficient and there is no need of top feed.
Allow more and more time for breast feed, give plenty of fluids and extra calories to the mother.
Try to shift to exclusive breast feed as early as possible.
Regarding temperature, the room temperature of 27 to 29 is comfortable range for the baby.
