Brief Answer:
Looks like Hand Foot Mouth Disease - Don't worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX ..

Thanks for your direct query on Health Care magic and the trust in me.

I have gone through the images and the details you have provided.

This looks like a hand foot mouth disease rash or an innocuous papular urticaria..

Nothing to worry about. This is very temporary and will heal in a few days.

Regarding Hand Foot Mouth Disease - this is one viral illness among all other exanthemas which can cause fever followed by rash over palms and soles. It is a self-limiting disorder and itching can be really worrisome.

You can use Hydroxyzine (Atarax) at 1-2mg/kg/dose (Maximum 10mg) every 6th to 8th hourly for 7 days.

The exact dose for your kid will be - Syrup Atarax (10mg/5ml strength) 5ml every 6th hourly (that is 4 times a day) for 7 days.

This can even cause some peeling of skin in the next 4-6 weeks and do not worry about it.

Regarding Papular Urticaria - all the above holds good - except for the fact that there will not be any skin peeling.

Whatever it is - both are self limiting and very simple viral / allergic phenomenon which are not serious.

Hereafter I suggest - Do not use antibiotics without proper blood culture and unless they are specifically indicated. I remember answering the same query few days back about rash after Amoxicililn - Clavulenate.

Please do not use Mefenamic acid for fever.

Please keep me posted about the progress.
