What Causes Fever, Sore Muscles And Red Spots On Hands, Arms And Back?

Question: Hi, I had potential exposure with unprotected sex 7 weeks ago, and only just started getting symptoms, fever, sore muscles and joints all over and starting to get little red spots on arms and hands, and back. Tested negative at 6 weeks, also I have smoked crystal meth over the weekend, and I I'm bed ridden with most of the symptoms. Would meth, and anxiety have anything to do with theses symptoms ?? I haven't slept in 2 days or eaten much either, hard to swallow and my head aches . I think I'm screwed :( I think Australia uses gen 4 testing.

It is possible that the red spots on your arms, hand and back are due to crystal meth use. It can cause a mild chronic inflammation below the skin and appears as small red spots.

As you have tested negative at 6 weeks (probably with the fourth generation test) then there is no particular concern from HIV. Fourth generation tests have an accuracy approaching 97 percent when done 12 days after potential exposure.

The symptoms of fever, sore muscles and joints,headaches with difficulty in swallowing can be due to a flu or the result of anxiety and not catching up with sleep for two nights continuously.

I suggest you take things calmly and control your anxiety related stress. Please confirm that the test done on you was the fourth generation one and get a repeat test done at a later date, if required.

Thanks for that, I can't stop looking at my shoulders and arms in the mirror, top of my shoulders have little brown spots and I have redness under facial hair and under my eyes, when I look at my upper arms I see like a white rash if you know what I mean,I spent all day Saturday drinking in the sun, as for all the other ones they are just in random spots on there own, not I clumps and most are only very small. The sore throat only started last night, but my arms and legs have been hurting since a couple of days befor my first test along with a head ache, I work in Indonesia at an altitude of 4500 meters and this is my first time back in Australia since mid December ! I try convince myself it's something else but...... I'm due to fly back Wednesday night and if I'm feeling like I am now I'm worried, as for the drugs, this will be the last.
