Brief Answer:
Throat Infection exaggerated by stress

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank you for getting back with the answers. I have gone through them. In your case throat infection & stress have exaggerated the effect on your body. First of all i would recommend you not to worry about your health. You are absolutely fine at the moment. You just have acute throat infection which has been made more pronounced by stress factor. If i were your treating doctor then would give following advises:

1. Throat infection:
> I would start you on amoxicilin/clavulanic acid 625mg thrice a day for 7 days; Diphenhydramine + Dextromethorphan for cough and levocetirizine
> Acetaminophen can be taken for fever.
> Besides that take hot water in a cup, add 1 table spoon salt in it. Perform gargles (mouth wash) with it three times a day for at least 3 days. It will give soothing effect.

AVOID:
> Chilled water
> Drinks
> Spicy food

2. LFTs:
Your AST is more than ALT. It occurs in alcoholism. If you drink then probably it has caused this deranged levels. You can further correlate it by getting an ultrasound scan of abdomen to check status of liver. Meanwhile i would suggest you to stop alcohol intake or at least reduce to minimum.

3. Alternating diarrhea & constipation:
These most commonly occur in stressful conditions. If at the moment they are not bothering you then forget them. Drotaverine is a useful drug for abdominal pain. Do take high fiber diet to avoid constipation including fresh fruits & juices.

4. Stress:
I would suggest you following things for stress:
> Alprazolam 0.25mg one at night for 4 days.
> Try to do a light exercise/walk in the evening with your wife. Change in environment also helps in relieving the stress.
> Take your wife out to some calm place for dinner and try to have conversation with her. Take her in to confidence and share your views/issues and see if she also has some issues which you can resolve. In this way hopefully you both can reach to a conclusion.
> You can also take the help of a psychologist or a counselor so that he can help you in resolving the issues.

Most of the aforementioned drugs are prescription only medications. You can visit a doctor and discuss about it.

Conclusion:
Stress is making your health issues worse. If you overcome this then it will dramatically improve everything else.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
