Brief Answer:
Suggested chest CT scan and review by authorized pulmonologist

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Chest x ray is an important test for overseas employment. This is because tuberculosis is an epidemic disease and other countries want to avoid entry of people who can have this condition, based on chest x ray findings.

2. There can be misinterpretations on chest x ray because the reporting is subjective and can vary with the doctor seeing your x ray. You have mentioned that the x ray done in 2 other places was given a normal report. Therefore it is probable that the scarring in the right upper zone is not a real scarring.

3. In the above event it is suggested that you get a chest CT scan done. This is a detailed investigation and will clearly tell if you really have scarring in the right upper zone or it was a mistake in reporting.

4. If there is a scarring on chest CT scan then you have to consult a pulmonologist or lung and TB specialist authorized by your employer and get evaluated to know the probability of active TB and the impact of the scarring on your current health status.

5. Scarring can occur from any lung infection since childhood and not always TB. This is from healed lung tissue and will stay permanently. If the authorized pulmonologist, after seeing the chest CT scan, is able to clarify that there is no scarring or that the scarring problem is not connected to TB then your job can be safeguarded.

Hope your query is answered.
