Brief Answer:
Investigations for medical / surgical renal disease

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
Flank pain with RBC's in the urine suggests a serious renal issue warranting further investigations.
The various possibilities are
1. Stone disease
2. Nephritis
3. Complications in a degenerative renal cyst.
The suggested further course of action would be.
1. A detailed clinical evaluation for renal enlargement and renal angle tenderness.
2. Detailed renal function tests which include blood tests and urine examinatiom.
3. Ultrasound of the kidney/ ureter and bladder to rule aout any pathology in the renal tract.
I hope this answers your doubt.

Brief Answer:
Antibiotics/ plenty of water/ investigations

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the feedback.
It is good to hear that the ultrasound is normal.
I would suggest the following.
1. A short course of antibiotics for 5 days. I would start Tab Norfloxacin 500 mgms twice a day for 5 days. You can get this prescribed by a doctor nearby.
2. Plenty of water.
3. Repeat serum BUN and creatinine.
