What Causes Flashes Along The Edge Of My Eyes?

This requires examination of the retina by ophthalmologist.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic
I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.
I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having symptoms of flashes of lights.
The most common cause for flashes of light is age related degeneration of the vitreous and posterior vitreous detachment. This is a benign condition and is seen in 50% of people after the age of 60 years and 90% of people after the age of 70 years. This will decrease slowly and no need to be worried about it.
But some times this can be associated with retinal tear which requires laser treatment to prevent development of retinal detachment and other complications.
Hence all people with sudden onset of flashes of light require evaluation by indirect ophthalmoscopy to look for and to rule out any problem in the peripheral retina like retinal tear.
Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination of the eye by indirect ophthalmoscopy. Do get back to me after examination of the eye and in particular examination of retina.
Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.
Thank you
