What Causes Floaters In The Field Of Vision After Hysterectomy?

Question: I had a total abdominal hysterectomy on 28/9/16 and all but my left ovary was removed. For the last 10 days I have had trouble getting to sleep and over the last few days I have had a large floater in my left eye. I have been diagnosed with optic neuritis in 2009. My optometrist has checked my eyes and says that I have PVD and my hormone levels (LH, FSJ, TSH, E2) were checked yesterday and these were all in the normal range. I am very worried that my eye may get worse.
Brief Answer:
Sign of general body weakness
Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
This sudden appearance of floater usually occurs is general body weakness.A bunch of floaters like a shower gives us a indication of vitreous hemorrhage, which is not an issue in your case.
As an optometrist has done a preliminary examination,,PVD can be responsible for such floater, there is nothing much to be done in your case, other than taking care of your health. As rest of your parameters are normal,t ake care of your general body health. We did not get any details of the eye drop which you were using.
Do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.

Dear Dr Misra,
Thank you for your reply and for your help. Initially I appeared to have one large floater in my left eye,but it now seems that there are a bunch of them, like lines or a cobweb in my left eye. These are particularly noticeable in daylight or when I look up from a computer keyboard to a monitor. They eye drops that I was prescribed by my optometrist are called Optive Fusion (containing 5mg/mL Carmellose sodium, 10 mg/mL Glycerin and 1 mg/mL sodium hyaluronate). These eye drops were prescribed for hydration as my eyes were dry. My optometrist also noticed that I appeared to have a mild allergy as I have also noticed some tingling sensation near my left eyebrow and forehead (like a hair is brushing against my forehead or left eyebrow or something is touching my forehead). I have seen my GP and he does not believe that it is shingles as there is no difference in sensitivity when my forehead is touched on either side or the area around my eyes is touched etc. I guess that I was worried that the floaters may be connected to my optic neuritis as a symptom of uveitis is the appearance of floaters.
I would greatly appreciate any further information that you can provide regarding this.

Brief Answer:
Floaters.
Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Good of you to get back to me.
These drops were for dryness, and will be helpful. These floaters will take few months to resolve..The tingling sensation you are having has to be differentiated if it is a generalized tingling or purely local. If generalized, then we have to think in terms of neuropathy, that in view of your history of optic neuritis assumes significance.
If there is no such issue and it is just a local tingling,we have to wait and watch as to how things progress.
Both these issues of floaters and tingling have to be observed as to how these progress and we have to wIt and watch. In the meanwhile just take care of your general health.
