What Causes Floaters, Visual Dullness And Blurry Vision?

Question: I'm at my wit's end here. I do not understand what's going on with my eyesight. The internet doesn't seem to either. I'm a 26 year old male who up to the age of 23 enjoyed perfect, laser sharp 20/20 vision.
This is no longer the case. Let me explain.

3 years ago i woke up with my vision being ever so slightly out of focus. I first noticed this when i opened my eyes and looked at the wallpaper which had a pattern of some kind that my eyes couldn't seem to penetrate. Do you understand ? I got up and noticed that it was the same at every distance.
I didn't think too much of it. I went on with my life, but got an eye exam with an eye doctor 14 days later just in case. He found nothing wrong and advised me to spend less time with the computer and such nonsense. Whatever. I had no real refractive error that could explain my symptoms. No sign of pathology . At this point my eye problems were very mild, but also constant. Over these 3 years it has gotten progressively worse. In stages. To the point i'm at now, where it is starting to be a real problem and a constant worry on my mind. I would say there's been about 10 stages. During this time i haven't been having migraines, no swelling, no dryness or anything like that. I've had some pain in my eyes from time to time, but nothing too serious. My eyesight has just been declining very gradually, incrementally with no real drama. No loss of peripheral vision, no blindspots. I've had some red dots and floaters in my visual field from time to time, but again, nothing too serious. Ok. so i've established that i (probably) don't suffer from any form of acute or well known disease of the eye. The last week i've been reading about all sorts of eye conditions and my problems don't seem to fit in anywhere. All the conditions i've researched seem to have a more drastic pattern of vision loss. Lately i've also been experiencing a severe decline in memory, concentration and general cognitive function. And i'm kinda worried these things might be related. This has also been happening very gradually. Let's go more into the specifics of my symptoms.
I'm experiencing more of a visual dullness than blurriness or fogginess.
It feels as if the words are escaping my vision when i read. I can't quite get them into focus. I just scan through an article ( because i can't focus on a word )and i often find myself reading stuff wrong.
Everything, at every distance, is dull. The opposite of sharp.
I guess the easiest way of explaining it is that i don't see in HD anymore.
I see halos around LED lights.
It definitely gets worse with bad lighting. Dim light.
I'm exhausted.. I've probably spent around 4 hours writing this little message. But i hope i've given you enough information.
Basically.. What can this be? What part of the eye is problem? What's going on? Will just just continue until i'm totally blind?

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your detailed query to us.

As I go through your narrative twice to make sure that I didn't miss any important point, I gather you had your last eye examination when you were 23 and it was 14 days after the initial problem. What we need to have is a repeat eye examination in detail to establish :

1) that you have a diminished vision, quantitatively .The no.of lines you are able to read on the board..

2)Is there any defect in the eye to explain such qualitative reduction in vision.

Once we establish quantitative and qualitative diminution of vision then we proceed with reasons for defect and establish a cure.

So get a complete eye examination immediately and in the meantime take care of your diet, eat well and balanced diet, exercise and rest.

Get back to me with details of Eye examination.

Kind Regards

Brief Answer:
Eye checkup required

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for getting back to me.

Your symptoms are not very specific. Therefore without a physical examination, it is difficult to arrive at the possibilities. Therefore the step one is to get the eye examination. After having an assessment of your visual status if all your problems are explained then it is settled. If your difficulties are not fully explained, then we have look for other reasons and you have to have complete general and neurological examination.
We have to proceed in a systematic manner.
Eye examination, then if necessary have complete general examination and neurological examination will be advised.
Any further query in this regard please do get back to me.
