What Causes Fluid Retention In Ears?

I am experiencing the feeling of having water in my ears, primarily the right ear. Also, ringing in the right ear. It's bad enough that I'm having trouble hearing in that ear.
I have a small fatty lump on my neck, examined one year ago at the VA clinic. X-rays showed it (or so it seemed) to be harmless.
Examination of the ear is important...
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting the query
The sensation of water in the ear may be due to the following conditions:
1. Presence of ear wax
2. Eustachian tube (the tube connecting nose and the ear) catarrh
3. Middle ear infection
4. Serous Otitis media
Hence, examination of the ear and nose is necessary to identify the actual cause. My suggestion to you is to consult your doctor for a complete evaluation, so management can be planned accordingly.
Meanwhile, presuming it to be Eustachian tube problem or fluid in the middle ear, please try doing the below mentioned household remedies.
1. Do steam inhalation
2. Drink plenty of warm water
3. Avoid chilled food and beverages/smoking/alcohol/coffee
These symptoms are unrelated to the swelling noticed in the neck. The swelling could be a harmless lymph node, enlarged because of the infection in the surrounding region.
Hope I have answered your query; I will be available for the follow up queries.
