Question: I have a fluttering in my stomach that precipitates coughing . Nexium or Zantac doesn't seem to help..seems like I cough more.have been checked out for chest x-ray and all okay

Take Mylanta or Pepcid along with Nexium

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

If you have dry cough along with acidity then you should try an immediate antacid along with Nexium. Nexium would only suppress acid production hence may not be helpful for immediate relief.

So I suggest regular OTC Mylanta or Pepcid oral syrup. A simple elevation of the headend of you cot would bring a lot of relief, similarly wearing loose clothes helps.

If this does not help then you should evaluate causes like sinusitis.
