Question: I normal take lisinopril 20mg a day. I had a foggy headache and I checked it it was 149/103. At the dr's it was 123/108. Took 2 pills within 8 hours and it did not drop much before bed. Took it in the morning still in the bed110/77. After getting up it was 123/102. Went to my physical therapist and asked him to take it. It was 143/109. Then we took it laying down and it was 123/98. I have since taken Bp at home 126/102 and took my one lisinopril 20mg today

Brief Answer:
You need to monitor your blood pressure and make changes to the therapy

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for your question on HCM! I understand your concern.

Your blood pressure is over the normal limits, so it seems that your blood pressure is not under control with this therapy.

I recommend you to monitor your blood pressure regularly many times during the day or have a blood pressure 24hours Holter monitoring.

Further tests like:a routine blood test, kidney and renal function tests, thyroid function tests, are necessary to exclude other causes of high blood pressure. You should consult with your GP and perform these tests.

If your blood pressure is higher than 130/90mm Hg most of the time, I would recommend you to consult with your GP for a dose changing of lisinopril, or the possibility of adding another drug to your antihypertensive therapy like a calcium channel blocker.

Hope to have been of help!

Feel free to ask any questions whenever you need!

Greetings! Dr. Iliri
