What Causes Foul Smell After Molar Tooth Extraction?
Question: I recently had a molar tooth extracted. Following that I had a dry socket. Dentist treated this over the course of a week and the gum appears to have healed. i have no mouth or other pain.Now about two weeks later when i bend over i get a foul smell in my right nostril ( same side as extracted molar)

1.Do you have history of cough or common cold,even of very mild in nature?
2.Do you rinse your mouth after each meal thoroughly,as you had a history of dry socket in recent past?
3 Do you use any mouthwash or warm saline rinses?
4.When you touch the healing socket with your tongue do you feel there is any swelling or bleeding etc?

As per the details provided to me it appears to be mild to moderate sinusitis.The reason for suspecting so,is that the foul smell is felt most upon bending.So according to me please see an ENT specialist once and get a simple x ray done to view the sinus status.
As far as reinfection in dental socket is concerned,it doesn't seems to be there.
But my advise would be, please keep a close watch on the symptoms related to socket too.
Since you are following good oral hygiene measures, there should be no dental socket infection.Therefore please see ENT specilaist once.
