What Causes Foul Smell After Tonsil Removal ?

Question: My granddaughter who is 9 just had her adeinoids (sp?) and tonsils removed a week ago. She has a foul smell coming from some place on her body, but we cannot tell where. We smell her breathe and when she blows out it is not the smell. Any thoughts?

Tube drug tour granddaughter has been prescribed , is an opiate for pain relief.
Thisdrug can result in increased sweating and can cause bad body odor. Dont worry, if your granddaughter is otherwise stable with no fever and breathing is normal, this issue will settle once the medicine is stopped.
Ensure she drinks plenty of liquids to decrease the smell.

I do not understand this statement.

She is not sweating though.....

Thisdrug can result in increased sweating and can cause bad body odor. It does not smell like regular body odor.

Could you elaborate further?

Apologies for the typo.

1. The drug your grand daughter has been prescribed is an opiate (a pain killer).

2. It is this drug which is causing bad odour from her skin. Odour should stop once you stop the drug.
Increased sweating may not be obviously seen. It may be a mild increase which goes unnoticed visually.

If you see any other symptoms like any pus or a boil on skin, fever, etc, please let me know.
