Question: My mother is over 70yrs old. She has Diabetes type 2. She continues to get Urinary track infections, along with shakiness, weakness, balance issues and no pain. She has 2 stints in her heart and has 2 disc herniation's and no pain. But has been to the hospital on more than one occasions for the same symptoms. 3 doctors have checked her blood and can find nothing wrong. Do you have any ideas of what this could possibly be so we can help her?

Brief Answer:
Get her blood HbA1c level checked. Upload reports thereafter.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. There are a number of issues involved here. Diabetes is the most important factor that complicates the situation. It depresses the immunity making her more prone to infections. It also makes her vulnerable to electrolyte imbalances although the advancement in her age would also be contributory. My suggestions for her would be:
* Get her blood HbA1c level checked. It will show the level of control of her blood sugar.
* Regular medication.
* Plenty of water to drink.
* Regular morning walk even if that is indoor.
* Back exercises as demonstrated by a physical therapist.
* Taking juicy fruits like citrus fruits as they contain plenty of potassium.
* Calcium supplementation.

Let me know if I could help further.
