Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for posting query at HCM.
I went through your query and understood your concern.
It seems - acute gastroenteritis and usually the disease is self limited.
Most of the causes are bacterial but do not cause severe symptoms.
Therefore, given your current presentation, I advise:
1. Avoid oily food, meat and junk food altogether for few days
2. Include PLAIN YOGURT in your meals
3. Have small meals that are fat-free or with limited fat
4. Keep yourself HYDRATED. you may drink OTC Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS)
5. Take OTC Flagyl twice or thrice daily after or during meals for couple to few days
Wish you speedy recovery and good n sound health

Conservative management and observation
Detailed Answer:
hi.
Thanks for writing back.
Gastritis and/or GERD is usually NOT associated with increased frequency of stool.
Apart from flagyl, you may just follow the advise as mentioned in the previous answer and observe your symptoms for couple to few days. Also avoid fiber-rich food, and include Plain Yogurt in your diet. If the frequency of stool does NOT decrease even after 4 to 5 days following advise then better to visit a gastroenterologist.
Any further questions are welcomed.
Wish you speedy recovery and good n sound health

Frequency/consistency matters.Quantity depends on what you eat
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Pleased to answer your concerns.
The more fiber in the diet, the bulkier the stool and more in quantity.
However, if frequency of stool is more than 3 times per day and/or consistency is liquid or very solid (difficult to pass), such a presentation should be discussed with a physician and/or a gastroenterologist.
Hope to answer your concern
