What Causes Frequent Painful Urination, Spotting And Back Thigh Pain Post Intercourse?
Question: I had unprotected sex 2 weeks ago. Five days later, my labia became raw, with severe burning and leg pain. I treated for a UTI with no relief. I saw a nurse practitioner who tested for STI and UTI. She said I did not have a UTI, and she found a lesion that she said looked more like sexual trauma than a herpetic lesion. No results from STI testing yet. Since then, the rawness and swelling have decreased, I now have urinary urgency with painful urination, continued pain in the back of my thighs, spotting that lasted a couple of days and has decreased, and some back pain. Any ideas whether this is HSV-2?
Brief Answer:
Can be due to Herpes simplex virus or injury or UTI.

Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
Welcome to health care magic. I have gone through the details.
The symptoms may be due to Herpes or injury or UTI.You can send clear photos of lesions for clarification if possible.UTI is unlikely If urine test for bacteria is negative.
It is better you get tested for STDs panel test. You can consult your doctor for examination and diagnosis.
You can relax if the symptoms are reduced. Drink plenty of water and fluids.
You can get back for any clarification.
Thank you

Thank you for your answer. The symptoms are improving, though it sounds like HSV-2 is the leading hypothesis. I was hoping that you could rule-out the diagnosis or decrease my anxiety about HSV-2, but it sounds like I just have to wait for the STD panel results to come back on Monday (I was tested this past Tuesday).
Brief Answer:
Please send clear photos if any for clarification.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for follow up query.
Yes ,we can make out your anxiety.
The symptoms do occur in the conditions mentioned, which makes diagnosis difficult. Moreover the picture of lesions is not clear. If there are tiny grouped vesicles(water filled lesions) or ulcers the likelihood of herpes is more.
Herpes is known for recurrence.
You can wait for the reports or consult your doctor for examination. You can get back with clear photos of lesions for any clarification. I will try to help you.
