What Causes Frequent Urge To Urinate And Pain In Penis?
Question: I have had frequent urge to urinate and little comes out. My urine stream is split and weak. I sometimes have a slight pain and itch in my penis and sometimes have an itch irritation from my navel to my penis. I am seeing a urologist next week. I was on Cipro for 20 days and Flomax for 30 days and it seemed to provide a lot of relief. The CIpro ended Monday and now the symptoms appear to be coming back to the level they were at before. I am more freaking out than anything else
The urine test & culture came out negative.
Blood Sugar and PSA were normal.
There is no pain in the perineal region and no pain during ejaculation and no diabetes.

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have frequency and urgency for urination since one moth and have been XXXXXXX Ciprofloxacin and Tomsulosin .
I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Do you have pain in perineal region ?
2) Do you have painful ejaculation ?
3) Are you diabetic?
The symptoms that you have could be mostly due to infection of prostate (Prostatitis.)
You need to consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.
4) Swab test and culture of urethral discharge obtained after prostate massage .
5) Blood Sugar tests to rule out Diabetes .
6) Semen examination and semen culture .
In the mean while continue taking medications that you are taking .Add Darifenacin once daily .It will help to reduce urgency.
Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

In view of the negative findings the urgency that you have is could be mostly due to Over Active Bladder Syndrome (OAB)
Consult Urologist as planned and get
1) Ultrasound Scanning of the abdomen done to rule out enlarged prostate .
2) Endoscopic Examination of Bladder (Cystoscopy)
Start taking Darifencin once daily .This will help to reduce frequent urge for urination.
