What Causes Frequent Urination And Lower Back Pain?

Question: Since last 20 days, i am suffering from frequent urinating problem even after time gap of 5 to 10 mints. Also there is pain while passing urine and bladder remains full even after passing urine. Sometimes 2-3 drops only are passed though the bladder appears to be full. There is also back pain in the lower portion. kindly advice, Neelam, 42 years

Could be due to acute Prostatitis.

Hello
Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have increased frequency of urination with urge to pass urine anddysuria.

This could be mostly due to Acute UTI with Acute Prostatitis.

Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine Routine and Urine Culture .
2) Ultrasound Scanning of abdomen and Pelvis

In the mean while start taking broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water.To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

Further treatment will depend upon the results of these tests and final diagnosis.
