What Causes Frequent Urination And Yeast Infection After Taking Antibiotics For UTI?
Question: last week i took a course of antibiotics for a uti, and contracted a subsequent yeast infection, which is common for me, as this often happens after antibiotics. I am self treating the yeast infection with the OTC suppository kits and taking probiotics.
Today I experienced urinary frequency, but i actually voided a moderate-large amount of urine each time. I had a moderate amount of white tissue present in my urine sample that I collected this afternoon (snowglobe), and my uti test strip tested slightly positive for leukocytes, however, it tested negative for nitrites (as it did last week prior to starting antibiotics). do you think I have a kidney problem instead of a uti? it's so alarming to see tissue in urine. any thoughts are appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Urine microscopic examination helpful
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
I understand your query.
The white flakes you have been seeing can be denuded epithelium , protein casts, casts containing wbcs or monilia.
It would be helpful to a urine microscopic examination and culture.
Since you are worried about the health and function of your kidneys, blood creatinine may be tested.
Best wishes
