Brief Answer:
Get an ultrasound scan done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The mild bloody discharge with a strongly positive pregnancy test can be due to-
1. Implantation bleed which is mostly only spotting and last only for few days
2. Blighted ovum or missed abortion in which case there will be a longer bout of bleeding and a negative pregnancy test after a few weeks
3. Ectopic pregnancy with nonviable embryo and withdrawal bleeding following that.
4. Threatened abortion.
You can do a repeat pregnancy test and an abdominal ultrasound which will be able to guide you to the viablity of the fetus and the position of the gestational sac. Depending on these your obstetritian will be able to guide you to the further course of treatment.
To prevent the bleeding from increasing she should
- take full bed rest whole day except for eating food and going to bathroom.
- avoid constipation
- avoid sexual activity
- keep taking all the medicines as prescribed regularly.
The cause is most often not known but exertion on the part of female or folic acid deficiency can also cause this.
In some patients there is deficiency of progesterone and thus HCG or progesterone injections are given.
Rest is the most important part of management.
