Question: I am 45-year-old male. i suffer from frequent urination. some days 20-25 time. The problem is severe after ejaculation, ultrasound of KUB revealed no enlargement or prostate or stone in kidney. both orgns normal in share and size. PVR result is NIL. I am not diabetic, too. Urine culture and random test showed nothing abnormal. For the past five days, I have been taking Uriplast 100 mg twice a day and solitral in the night. But no relief really. Is a semen test neccessay?

Brief Answer:
Semen test not necessary.Need to rule out DI

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir.

I understand your query and concern.

You seem to have polyuria.

Ultrasound KUB and Prostate ,urine culture and RBS are NORMAL.

These findings comfortably rule out infection, diabetes and stones.

From here on we need to rule out the possibility of Diabetes Insipidus/DI.

For this you need to get the following:

1.Serum electrolytes.
2.urine specific gravity.
3.Simultaneous plasma and urine osmolality.
4.Plasma ADH level.

Semen test is not necessary at this point.

Post your further queries,if any.
Thank you.
