What Causes Frequent Urine Infection?

please suggest.
Let us go to the root cause
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read the present complaints and the past medical history, the treatments you have taken, the working and taking less water etc.
The simple dictum is ::
if you have recurrent urinary tract problems , there has to be a reason. The curative treatment demands to find the causative factor and deal with it to get a cure.
Since the ultrasonography dated 11/06/14 shows mild diffuse thickening of the bladder wall with 32 ml post-void urine, I would advise you to undergo cystourethroscopy by Urologist. This is the only way to see the real interior of urethra, bladder neck and urinary bladder. This may find a reason like a small stricture of urethra, bladder neck obstruction and so many other causes.
Another investigation advised in a patient with repeated UTI is IVP- intravenous pyelography. This also gives an idea about the root-cause. IF this turns out normal , we are happy to rule-out a particular cause. Many times rare reasons are found out like tuberculosis, strictures or some anomaly on IVP.
If you are married, it is very very important that your husband too takes the same course as you take for minimum of 5 days.
Continue the treatment you are already under; change over another antibiotic as per urine culture and sensitivity reports; Take a complete course of 3 weeks as was advised in older times.
What are the other symptoms you have other than the backache and discomfort.
Is there any history of fever with chill? Pain in abdomen? Frequency? Weak stream?
What is the Urine culture and sensitivity report and other blood reports? Any diagnosis the Gynecology has talked about since she has given you Forcan for 5 to 7 days?
or chill. Slight pain in groin area is there. Gynac has suggested to me today totake Monural
Monural is a great choice.
Detailed Answer:
Great - Monural is a great choice.
No Fever , No chills is a good indication. Slight pain in groin should settle soon.
Continue Forcan.
Please follow the advice as detailed above as per your convenience.
Went to my GP ( who is professor and md) suggested to continue forcan and lactobacillus with lots of cranberry juice.
At this moment i have taken last week Norflox and Amikacin ( injctn 3 shots) so has told me not to take Monural.
Today feeling much better than yesterday.
Please suggest if i am on right track.
Discuss and follow with GP
Detailed Answer:
Good morning.
Norflox can be taken for 2 to 3 weeks safely, only precaution is to drink plenty of water. Norflox and any of the flox group medicines is better avoided in new or old case of Neurocysticercosis.
Amikacin can be taken for 5 to 14 days if the urea and creatinine are normal.
If you have stopped them already, take the age-old Doxycyclin, after consultation with your GP who may be happy to prescribe ( possibility). You can certainly take this for a long time of 3 weeks. IT is expected to cure the infection and in the meantime you should undergo investigation under the care of Urologist.
In fact as your GP told you to hold Monural- let it be reserved if needed in future.
Please discuss all these points with your GP.
Feeling better is fine but the ultimate aim has to find the root-cause, get it treated and get a permanent cure.
Yes, then you are on a right tract.
