What Causes Gas Pain While On Amoxicillin?
Unlikely due to amoxicillin.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,
I have read your query and understand the concern.
Antibiotics (amoxicillin in your case) are very unlikely known to cause gas pain or acute gastritis. The reason could be something else (like stomach infection or some other drug or may be dietary change) but there is no need to worry.
You can take over the counter symptomatic medications with some dietary restrictions to get rid of this gas pain.
1) Take over the counter antacids tablets like Tab.Omeprazole with Tab.Gas-X twice daily to get symptomatic relief.
These both drugs may give immediate relief within few hours. And better to avoid NSAID pain killers.
2) Take syrup digene 2 TSF three times a day will also be helpful.
3) Avoid hot, oily and spicy foods.
4) Avoid eating full stomach one at a time, instead take small meals frequently.
5) Avoid complex carbohydrates like beans, potato and carbonated beverages and milk based products which are hard to digest and they also cause more gas formation.
6) Drink plenty of water and fruit juices.
7) Digestive enzymes (like Unienzyme) will also be helpful in the digestion of carbohydrates and minimize the gas production.
8) Avoid talking which eating, doing so may also cause further gas formation.
Hope this will be helpful.
