What Causes Gurgling Sound In Stomach, Gas And Excessive Crying In Infant?
Question: My baby was born on 4th November 2015. She is crying a lot since last 4-5 days. I observe she is being fussy and can hear gurgle sound from her tummy. I tried home remedies (eating ajwain since I am breast feeding her), cycling exercises and massaging her after which she passed gas. I have given her Bonnison twice still she is irritated and spitting milk. Please advice what can be done.

Your baby seems to be having colic. This is just an annoying condition that happens due to bloating. Enough feed and burping after each feed helps most. Lying the baby on her tummy for 5-10 min under supervision also helps. Do not give water to drink. Since you are breastfeeding, I will advise that you give her enough feed at a time and eat hygienic food and cleaner drinking water at all times. This precaution will also help the baby.
Some medicines are available but may not be very helpful. You have already tried Bonnison. You may try colicaid 5 drops upto 3-4 times in a day can be given when symptoms are bad.
This is a self-limiting condition and usually resolves by 4-6 months of age.
