What Causes Hallucinations While On Xarelto?
Question: I have been on Xarelto for a month and as I noticed some weird things. I have creepy crawlys on my body stall times. I look and there is nothing there. I've been getting very disoriented like I am drugged. I have some time lapse stuff to where I do t exact remember doing a task for long periods of time. Irritability. And bruising so badly and easily I am embarrassed
Brief Answer:
they're probably side effects
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
anxiety is a common side effect of the drug. A lack of energy, feeling unwell and fatigue are also common side effects. I've left easy bruising last, because it is the most certain side effect. If it's very common or has resulted into extensive bruises then consider alternative treatment might be reasonable.
I hope you find my comments helpful!

I have upper left quadrant pin also. The creepy crawly thing is driving me up walls and I'm questioning my sanity
Brief Answer:
please contact your doctor for alternative regimen
Detailed Answer:
Since this seems to be pretty annoying, you should contact your doctor immediately for alternative regimen. Unfortunately you can't just stop drugs like xarelto without taking another drug instead, because thrombotic complications may occur. Choices like coumarin or low molecular weight heparins are feasible. You haven't mentioned the reason you're taking xarelto, so I can't be more specific.
Kind Regards!

I had a PE in December and I was on warfarin and they changed me off of it so I could do doctors less. Should I be worried about any weird thing causing my side effects?
Brief Answer:
xarelto is the most likely cause
Detailed Answer:
I see... warfarin is a great choice but you have to check the INR regularly. Xarelto and similar drugs do not require monitoring and unlike the low molecular weight heparins (which do not require monitoring as well) they can be swallowed (instead of injected).
Deciding that a side effect is the correct diagnosis for any symptom requires excluding other potential causes. Since the symptoms occurred after starting xarelto and the they are not characteristic for any disorder, the side effect scenario is by far the most likely one. Thus I don't believe that any kind of investigation is needed. If you stop the drug and the symptoms don't get better then further investigation might be required.
Kind Regards!
