Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I read your query and understand your concerns.
From the available description it appears to me that shivering and avoidance of social situations are symptoms of same problem and it is possible that along with anxiety you have social phobia. The other possibility is avoidance anxiety.
Both of these conditions can be treated with progressive relaxation and use of stress management strategies. The most important among them is to identify the causes and reverse them in possible manner while progressively relaxing group of muscles.
In case this has already been tried with little success you can opt for medications. In my opinion SSRI group of medications are safer and can be used for long time if required.
I hope this assists you.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for follow up.
As stated in previous query the primary mode of treatment for anxiety lies with behavioural and psychological methods and should be tried first.
The SSRI group of medicine include prozac, paxil, lexapro, Celexa, zoloft and are useful in anxiety. Alike any other medication they have some side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache among others.
They are generally required for long time and you may get rid of anxiety in majority of instances but there is no conformity.
Regarding prognosis behavioural therapy have the best prognosis in phobias.
I hope this answers you further.
Thanks again.
