What Causes Hard Bump On Upper Left Gum Area And Painful Upper Teeth?
Periapical or Periodontal Abscess
Detailed Answer:
Hello, XXXXXX ,
This is Dr. Priyanka tiwari answering your query,
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. Since you have history of pain in tooth, this swelling can be related to your toothache. I think it can due to carious tooth or due to Periodontal Pocket formation ( deposition of food debris) in gums.
In my opinion, you need to get back to your dentist and discuss about the aforementioned condition. Root canal treatment is entailed if presence of dental infection is confirmed. Scaling and Curettage would be the treatment if it isn't from infection.
Without an opportunity to physically examine you, I am unable to specify the right treatment. You can get back to me if needed after the dental evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query ,
If you have further query I will be happy to help.

Hello XXXXX,
Cyst formation can recur after initial treatment. However whether or not it is a cyst, a pocket formation or a boil can be confirmed only with examination. I sometimes order for OPG to arrive at this diagnosis.
In all probabilities, I don't think you have a serious concern here. But it is definitely worth while to get back to your treating doctor. He/she can examine the affected area before ordering for OPG X-ray. We can get this sorted once we have the diagnosis.
Hope it will help you.
