What Causes Hard, Painful Lump On Left Side Of Belly Button?
Question: I have almost a softball lump on the left side of my belly button, which gets hard and painful when standing up. When I push on it, I can hear fluid. I just had an abdominal total hysterectomy at the beginning of March and then was rushed to the hospital a week later with a pelvic abcess and bowel abstruction. I didn't have this before the surgery and now it doesn't seem to be going away. I thought is was just swelling; however, it's been eight weeks now. It is painful if I am physically working and the only comfort I feel is when I am lying down it also does not pertrude as much when lying down. Finally, I have had diarrhea for the last week or so and really painful gas. Could it be something wrong with my bowel. I had a really tough hysterectomy...my uterus was adhered to my abdomen and bowel. I also had a lot of adhesions and scar tissue.
