Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,
I honestly think your cardiologist needs to give you appropriate treatment for this excess heart rate and also to control your blood pressure appropriately. It is good news already that from results of the ultrasound, the heart is doing really great.
An increased heart rate can explain the raised blood pressure levels you are having. Left untreated, this could be a key risk factor for stroke, increase in the size of the heart muscle (ventricular hypertrophy) and possible myocardial infarction in the future.
It might be interesting to get a good electrocardiogram done to ensure the heart rhythm is ok. The opinion of your consultant cardiologist here is imperative.
The rate is controlled by a part of the nervous system called the autonomic nervous system. When the sympathetic part is stimulated, adrenaline is released which is responsible for raising the heart rate. Sexual intercourse also involves release of adrenaline which adds to raise heart rate. It is not surprising that they should be related. Excess activity with stimulated sympathetic part of the nervous system generates heat and sweating in this case is the body s mechanism to regulate the body temperature. The raised raised heart rate explains this also.
Raised blood pressure can manifest itself like headaches. Raised heart rates are associated with raised blood pressures which could explain the headache.
I suggest a thorough investigation of this raised heart raised. Thyroid function tests, testing for Vanyl mandelique acid in urine to exclude an adrenal tumor, an abdominal and pelvic CT scan to exclude adrenal tumors like phaechromocytomas that could present as such are mandatory.
I suggest a consultation with your cardiologist. Your blood pressure needs to be monitored and managed as you wait for this consultation.
Thanks and kind regards,
